Two-factor authetntication (2FA) on your user account

In order to increase the security of end customer accounts, MKhost has introduced an option to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for all users accounts.
In your next login to the MKhost user portal you can immediately enable 2FA.

By enabling this option beside username and password you will also need to enter the unique code that will arrive as an SMS message to the phone number set for 2FA.

Instructions for setting up 2FA for the first time

• Log in to https://portal.mkhost.com with your email and password.
• After a successful login, you will immediately be redirected to the option to enable 2FA. In the next step, enter your phone number in the format: +389.7xxxxxxx and wait a few minutes for an SMS message with a unique code to arrive
• Enter the unique code you received in the code field and enable the option

*The code in the SMS message is valid for 5 minutes. If you do not receive a code within that time, try sending a code again or contact support.

If you did not enable 2FA during the first login, the same can be done after logging into the user account with your email and password.

Instructions for setting up 2FA through a user account:

• Click on your name and then on the My Account section
• Go to the Security section → Activate → Two-factor authentication
• Enter your phone number, wait for an SMS and enter the unique code received via SMS
  
  

*The code in the SMS message is valid for 5 minutes. If you do not receive a code within that time, try sending the code again or contact support.

If you want or need to in the future, you can change the phone number associated with 2FA.

Instructions for changing the 2FA number

• Log in to your account with a username, password and unique code
• Go to the Security section
• Enter the new phone number and click save changes
• Enter the SMS code that will arrive on your new phone. With that, the change will be made and in future announcements, the unique code will arrive as an SMS to the new phone number (picture)
